Simple Faith, May 8, 2018

by Chuck Hetzler

The LORD took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars — if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.  Genesis 15:5-6

There was nothing God could say to Abraham that Abraham would not believe. God asked Abraham to leave his homeland and go to a completely new land, and Abraham believed. God asked Abraham to sacrifice his only son, and Abraham believed. God told Abraham that he would have millions of progeny, and Abraham believed. God is looking for this kind of simple faith in all of us.

Dear Lord, How could I not trust You? Give me faith — pure and simple. Amen.
