News & Updates

Every year during VBS, we put an emphasis on God-Sightings. Kids and adults are asked to share about a God-Sighting they witnessed that day. These are actually pretty easy. It could be enjoying the beauty of a flower, feeling protection in a storm, or even someone reaching out to you without inclination. We would love to hear your stories. Comment below with a God-Sighting if you'd like to share. These could be shared with the kids this week. ... See MoreSee Less

A request from Mayor Kyle Moore to area churches:

As of 10:00 AM today we have requests for over 160,000 sandbags, and very little volunteers. These sandbags are protecting area businesses and critical routes like Interstate 72, Highways 104, 57 and 24. The sandbags we are filling are going directly to critical needs in Adams County and throughout Illinois. The river continues to rise and we are expecting more rain today.

Volunteers can show up anytime at the OLC east parking lot today (Saturday) and Sunday from 8 AM – 10 PM. If people aren’t able to fill sandbags they can help tie the sandbags shut, hold bags while sand is being placed in them, or even help the Salvation Army deliver meals.
