It Is Finished, March 30, 2018

by Chuck Hetzler

When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. ┬áJohn 19:30

All the amazing things that Jesus did and said would have been incomplete if He did not die on the cross. Only at the time when Jesus was about to breathe His final breath could He say that His work was done. Jesus’ ultimate task was to die for the sins of the world. Jesus was not a mere teacher or miracle worker; He was our sacrificial substitute. He paid for our sins so that we don’t have to.

Lord Jesus, We praise You this Good Friday for dying in our place. Amen.
